What happens in an OCT scan?
This non-invasive imaging test takes a 3D image of the back of the eye. It acts almost like an ultrasound and allows us to view areas of your eye that are unseen with normal retinal photography.
Why is an OCT test so important?
An OCT scan may highlight early signs of eye conditions such as glaucoma and macular degeneration that can lead to vision loss if left undiagnosed.
Your scan stays on our record so we can monitor your eye health every time you come in for your eye examination, which means we are able to detect any changes that may indicate a problem.
Examine your eyes & vision
We are proud to offer eye examinations that are twice as long as most routine eye tests at your bigger chain stores. As well as thoroughly testing your vision, we take our time to check the health of your eyes, which can be a vital indicator to your general health.
Children's eyecare
Even if your child has never had an eye test before, there’s no reason not to check their vision is developing as it should be and their eyes are healthy as children's eye tests are free on the NHS.
Emergency eyecare
We offer emergency eyecare appointments if you are experiencing a symptom or sudden visual change that is worrying you. In Derbyshire, these examinations are often covered by the NHS under the local 'minor eye conditions service - CUES'.
